Tournament Information

• Location: Wildcat Golf Course, 100 Wildcat Trail, Shellsburg, IA 52332
• Date: Monday, September 15, 2025
• Teams: CR Kennedy, Dubuque Senior, IC Liberty, IC West, Linn-Mar, Western Dubuque, Xavier
• Awards: Awards will not be given at this tournament. Individual and team awards will be handed out at the final divisional meet at Ellis.

Logistics

• Range: Range fees are complimentary, with costs covered by Xavier. Please note that range space is limited, and each team will be allotted two hitting areas to be shared with all members of their team.
• Carts and Meal: Each official head coach and assistant coach (if present) will be provided with a cart and meal ticket to be redeemed in the clubhouse. All costs are covered by Xavier.
• Food and Drink: Food and drink are not allowed on the course other than coolers with drinks and light snacks provided by the team. Coaches can carry these coolers on their carts.
• Spectators: Spectators are welcome to rent a cart from the clubhouse. Wildcat offers a full grill with make-to-order options, and we encourage your spectators to support our course and avoid bringing food and drink.

• Scoring App: We will be using the Kodiak Golf app for all live and final scoring. Players may enter scores on their cell phone through the Kodiak Golf app (optional, but recommended) or via paper scorecard. Details on how to use the Kodiak Golf app are attached.

Wildcat Course Description

Tees: ⚫ Black | Par: 70 | Course Rating/Slope: 69.3 / 118 | Total Yards: 6,225 yards

Hole 1 - Par 4, 385 yds: OB left (houses) and right (range), both marked with fence/white stakes.

Hole 2 - Par 4, 352 yds: OB left (houses, staked) and right (fence). No-mow along fence = General Area.

Hole 3 - Par 4, 258 yds: OB left (houses with white stakes). Water on the left corner of the dogleg is a red lateral hazard, as is the water through the fairway. OB right (fence). No-mow along fence = General Area.

Hole 4 - Par 3, 158 yds: OB left by properties and on/over the road.

Hole 5 - Par 5, 520 yds: OB right (housing), marked with white stakes. No mow left all the way to and around the back of the green is red lateral area.

Hole 6 - Par 3, 182 yds: OB right (houses). No mow and creek left are a red lateral hazard.

Hole 7 - Par 4, 270 yds: OB right, over the railroad. No mow and creek left are a red lateral hazard. No-mow along railroad = General Area.

Hole 8 - Par 3, 135 yds: No mow and creek are in between the tee and green. The maintenance area or yard on the opposite side of the cart path beyond the green is OB marked with white paint.

Hole 9 - Par 5, 525 yds: The creek starts on the left side, crosses the fairway near the landing zone of drives, and then follows the right side up to the green. OB right (fenced area) turns into a red lateral with trees and water.
The clubhouse area is free relief if you happen to go left/long on your approach/layup.

Hole 10 - Par 4, 427 yds: No mow left and right is red lateral area. The white stakes on this hole do not apply (for Hole 18).

Hole 11 - Par 4, 343 yds: No mow left and right is red lateral area.

Hole 12 - Par 3, 143 yds: Water left is a red lateral hazard.

Hole 13 - Par 4, 364 yds: No mow runs from the tee to the green up the right side. Trees and water on the left are a red lateral hazard which ends at the range, which is OB, and is not visible from the tee.

Hole 14 - Par 3, 196 yds: Dead patches on the green are covered by the local rule. Fence left is OB, no mow left is red lateral.

Hole 15 - Par 5, 538 yds: No mow left and right, both red lateral. OB left over the fence.

Hole 16 - Par 3, 172 yds: No special notes.

Hole 17 - Par 4, 370 yds: OB left (fence). No-mow along fence = General Area.

Hole 18 - Par 5, 555 yds: OB is on the right side of the tree line to the right of the hole. On the left is a red lateral hazard.

Rules

General Rules: USGA, IHSAA, and MVC bylaws will govern the tournament. A coach-appointed Rules Committee will be on-site to handle any disputes. The rules committee for this event is composed of Brandon Schiltz (Xavier), Chris James (Linn-Mar), and Ben Wilson (Western Dubuque).

Adopted Local Rules:

• No Mow Areas: "No mow" areas will be played as a red lateral hazard without being marked. If the group consensus is that a ball has entered a "no mow" area but cannot be found, the player must take a one-stroke penalty and drop the ball within two club-lengths of the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole. If it is not certain the ball entered the "no mow" area, the lost ball rule (stroke and distance) applies.

• Perimeter No-Mow Areas: If a ball is lost in a no-mow area along the course perimeter fence, the lost ball rule (stroke and distance) applies. (Holes 2, 3, 7, 17)

• Dead Patches on Greens: If a player's ball comes to rest in a dead patch on any green, they may take free relief. The player must take relief by placing the ball on the nearest spot of the putting green that is not in a dead patch, no closer to the hole.

• Pace of Play Policy: Rule 5.6b (3). The player shall play without delay. Between completion of a hole and playing from the next teeing ground, the player shall not unduly delay play. A group will be considered out of position if it is taking more than the allotted time to play and/or reaches the tee on a par 4 or par 5 that is clear of all players. A group out of position will be subject to individual timing. The timing of a player’s stroke will begin when the player has reached his ball and it is clearly his turn to play. A player will be allowed a maximum of 40 seconds to complete his stroke. If the player exceeds the time limit on one occasion, he will be warned that if he exceeds the time limit on one or more occasion, (total of 2), he will automatically incur a penalty of one stroke. If the player exceeds the time limit on one more occasion (total of 3), he will incur an additional two-stroke penalty. If the player exceeds the time limit a total of four times, the penalty is disqualification. Timing will discontinue when the group has regained its position. Times previously recorded that have exceeded the limit however will be held over for further occurrence.
