Rules

Little Bear Country Club Course Rules

General course rule: We have bushes throughout the course that are yardage markers. The round globe shaped bushes mark 150 yards and the tall bushes mark 100 yards. Golfers get free relief from these if they affect their stance or swing, NOT ball flight.

Yardage markers: Red-100 yards, Yellow-150 yards, Blue-200 yards

New trees: We have a lot of new trees on the course, these will be free relief from stance and swing. These are easy to identify, they either have plastic tubing around them or new mulch around them.

Man-made objects: From all man-made objects (big rocks on each tee box, benches, shed behind the men’s tee on 5, etc.) is free relief from stance, swing, NOT flight.

Hole 1 Pretty straight forward, only out of bounds would be way right through number 6, this would be stroke and distance.

Hole 2 There is a creek that runs across the fairway 150 yards from the green. You must go over it, it is played as a lateral hazard. The long grass on both sides of the creek is considered part of the hazard but you can play out if it is you choose. Out of bounds along the left of the hole, stroke and distance.

Hole 3 Out of bounds along the left and over the green, stroke and distance.

Hole 4 Out of bounds along the left, stroke and distance. The creek over the green is played as a lateral hazard. You do not have to drop on the other side of the creek, you get 2 club lengths from the edge of the creek, must be in the line of flight but could be closer to the hole.

Hole 5 Out of bounds along the left, stroke and distance.

Hole 6 Out of bounds along the left, stroke and distance. The out of bounds runs along the whole left side of the hole, not just the field. It is marked by white stakes. The pool over the green is out of bounds, stroke and distance.

Hole 7 Out of bounds along the left, stroke and distance.

Hole 8 Out of bounds along the left, stroke and distance. There is a pond in the middle of the fairway 100 yards from the green. You can go around the pond if you choose. The pond is played as a lateral hazard.

Hole 9 We have a course rule on this hole. The tree line along the left of the hole is out of bounds, the trees all have a white ring around them. This is to protect the golfers on hole 1. You do not lose your distance on this hole, you drop where your ball crosses the tree line and take a 1 stroke penalty. This is for any time on the hole, not just your tee shot.
