Willow Creek White/Red Course Rules:
Winter Rules: Pick, Clean, and Place the golf ball after each shot everywhere on the course including bunkers.
Sportsmanship: Be sure to show good sportsmanship on the course. Help each other to locate golf balls and with general rules of the game.
There will be a 10 stroke limit on each hole. When a player has taken 10 strokes, they will pick up the ball and move on to the next hole. Mark 10 on the scorecard and circle it.
We will be playing the Red Tee’s (Par 36 on White and Par 37 on Red)
Be sure to turn all cell phones off before the round begins.
Players can use range finders or GPS devices to laser distances on the course. Only distance, not slope.
On most holes, distances to the center of the green are marked with a red disk or stake in the center of the fairway (100 yd), a white disk or stake (150yd) and blue disk (200yd). In addition, there are sprinkler heads that are marked with yardages. They are located in the center of the fairway.
Drop Zones for Penalty Areas: There will be a drop zone for the water hazards on holes 1(behind green), 4(between the ponds), 5 (over the pond off the tee), 9 (over the pond off the tee), 17 (over the creek to the left of bridge)
Out of Bounds: If a ball appears to be out of bounds, play a provisional ball to help speed up play. Please help the other golfers in your group in locating any shot on the course.
Lost Ball: Please play a provisional if you think your ball may not be found at any time.
Penalty area are the ponds and creeks and will be marked in Red Paint(if time) or the water itself. Scoring: After each hole it is mandatory for each player to tell the group their score. Make sure to rectify any discrepancies in scores on a hole, before you tee off on the next hole.
End of the Round: At the end of the round make sure each hole is correct before turning in your scorecard. There will be a signing area for the players after the round. Once the card is turned into your coach, the player cannot change any hole by hole scores. Be sure to take care of any questions before you hand in your card to your coach.
Free Relief: From Rules 24 and 25 you are entitled to free relief from the following: Any immovable obstructions, such as sprinkler heads, electrical boxes, etc. Staked or tagged trees French drains, cart paths, and cart paths extended
If you have interference with your stance or area of your intended swing provided your ball is not in an area defined as a hazard, you may drop the ball within one club length of the point, no closer to the hole, which provides complete relief from the obstruction.
When in doubt as to a procedure, you always have the option to play a second ball. If you use this rule, be sure to inform your group, then play both balls through the hole and write both scores and report it to the committee before signing the card. The committee will then determine which ruling (ball) is correct.
