PRACTICE GREEN/WARM-UP: Three Elms has a very small practice green; therefore we will use this schedule: Independence & Center Point-Urbana 12:00-12:15; Alburnett, Dyersville Beckman, & Vinton-Shellsburg 12:15-12:30; Marion & Waverly-Shell Rock 12:30-12:45.

Three Elms does not have a driving range, however, there is a small short game area of approximately 75 yards in length that can be utilized for warm-up.

RULES: We will play the ball down unless course conditions warrant otherwise.

RULES COMMITTEE: Coaches from schools not directly involved in the situation will be involved.

SCORING: Each team may play six (6) participants, with the low four (4) scores counting for the team total. In case of a tie, the 5th (and 6th if necessary) player scores shall be compared to break the tie. Medals will be awarded for the top eight (8) individuals; a trophy and medals will be awarded to the overall team champion. A tie for overall medalist will be broken with a sudden death playoff playing holes 5 & 4 until a winner is determined. All other ties will be broken using a card back in handicap order: 1, 10, 9, 18, 2, 11, etc.

We will not have a 10-stroke limit; however, if coaches wish for an individual/individuals to play with one, they may – those scores will not be eligible for the team total or individual awards.

FOOD: Limited food and snack items are available for purchase at the clubhouse. Please do not bring any food or drink items not purchased on site on to the course grounds. Three Elms has graciously allowed us use of the course for this tournament with no additional fee.

CARTS: A cart will be provided to coaches upon request. A limited number of carts may be available for rent by spectators at the discretion of Three Elms Golf Course.

SPECTATOR POLICY: Family, friends, and spectators cannot communicate with participants on the course until the final scorecard has been signed and submitted. (Walking immediately alongside a player is deemed to be communication.) Spectators may cheer, applaud and offer words of encouragement to golfers; however, spectators must adhere to golf etiquette when doing so. At no time may spectators provide any type of instruction. Spectators are allowed to assist a player in looking for a lost ball but may not offer any rulings. Spectators should remain in the rough or on the cart paths and always keep parallel to the golfers; when golfers have reached the green please position yourselves to the side or behind the green. Spectators should be courteous in use of cell phones on the course. Any spectator disrupting play will be removed from the course. Competitors may be disqualified if in violation of this rule.

Course Information/Rules

Red tees will be used for both rounds.

All no mow areas will be played as red penalty areas. If your ball is found, you may play it. If you cannot find your ball or you do find your ball and elect to take relief, you should exercise the appropriate option and add a penalty stroke.

All bridges on the course are played as immovable obstructions – stance and swing relief (not line of flight).

There may be areas of ground under repair marked around the course; take appropriate relief without penalty. There may be areas of ground under repair that are unmarked; each group should use their best judgment. There are many stumps around the course due to tree removal the past couple of years; you may take free relief (stance and swing) no closer to the hole, including trees that are staked/protected by wire.

Hole #1 – Par 4, 369 Yards - Out of bounds entire right side of hole marked by fencing, white stakes, and/or white paint. The ravine and unmowed area running through the fairway will be played as temporary water – nearest point of relief no closer to the hole. No mow (penalty) area to the left.

Hole #2 – Par 4, 320 Yards - No mow (penalty) area left near green and far right of the green. The ravine/unmowed area running through the fairway will be played as temporary water.

Hole #3 – Par 3, 150 Yards - No mow/penalty area right. Players hitting ball left should be cautious of players playing hole #4.

Hole #4 – Par 4, 249 Yards - Wood chips on hill to right of green are played as a cart path – stance and swing relief. Players hitting the ball right should be cautious of players playing hole #5.

Hole #5 – Par 4, 270 Yards - Players hitting the ball right should be cautious of players on #4.

Hole #6 – Par 5, 425 Yards - Pond in front of tee box is played as a red penalty area. Players may elect to exercise their options under penalty of one stroke or use the ball drop at the start of the fairway under penalty of one stroke. The ravine/unmowed area running through the fairway will be played as temporary water. There is out of bounds over the green marked with white stakes and rope – any ball rolling or flying over the green at a high rate of speed may be out - hitting a provisional ball might be a good idea.

Hole #7 – Par 4, 271 Yards - Out of bounds up the entire right side of hole marked by fencing, white stakes, and/or white paint. There is tall grass in bounds before reaching the fence – this is not played as no mow. The pond behind the green is played as a red penalty area; if your ball rolls into the hazard use drop zone to the right and behind the green with a penalty of one stroke.

Hole #8 – Par 3, 140 Yards - Out of bounds up the entire right side of hole marked by white stakes and/or white paint. Out of bounds behind the hole marked by the fence. If ball rests against fence you must play it or take an unplayable lie – drop two club lengths no closer to the hole with a penalty of one stroke or return to where your previous stroke was made with a penalty of stroke and distance.

Hole #9 – Par 4, 311 Yards - Out of bounds along the entire right side of hole marked by fencing and white stakes. Out of bounds behind the hole marked by the cart shed. Out of bounds on left side of green marked by the edge of the concrete patio/cart path/parking lot.
