2025 Solon Spartan Invitational

Date: April 4, 2025 11:10 coaches meeting 12:00 shotgun tee-off

Participating Teams: Benton, CCA, Durant, Independence, Regina, Solon, Tipton, West Branch, West Delaware, West Liberty & Williamsburg

Rules

General Rules: IHSAA & USGA rules govern all play. The ball will be played UP everywhere on the course. We will play WHITE tees front 9, BLUE tees back 9.

Local Rules: Free drop from all cart paths, flower beds, sheds, wildflowers & bridges. Nearest relief and drop the ball into play.

Scoring: We will be playing in 5-somes, and each individual will be keeping their own scorecard. In addition, we are also going to be using the new Kodiak Golf App, for live scoring & results. This will be my first time using the new scoring app, but we are going to give it a shot. Not all kids will be required to have the app to enter the groups score but if want to see live results they will need to download it. Below is a link to Kodiak’s website to download the app. Golf app. Scoring. Games. GPS rangefinder. Stat Tracking.

Scoring Format: Team: 18 holes – This year we are allowing each team to bring 7 kids to play, and we will count the low 4 scores on each 9 to determine the team’s score.

Individual placement will still be determined by the player’s 18-hole score.

Medals: Top 2 teams Top 10 Individuals

Course Updates: • This winter/spring Lake MacBride took out over 50 ash trees. While the trees are gone, none of the stumps have been removed yet. We will play no relief from the stumps. • As part of the tree removal project, the course did plant several trees. All the mature trees have been staked and will we play those trees as free relief for stance and swing. The course also planted several sapling trees, which have a ribbon tied on them, those trees we will play free relief for stance, swing & ball flight.

Hole #1 OB left and right, marked by white stakes. There are several new tree plants on this hole, take appropriate relief

Hole #2 OB left and right, marked by white stakes. Water hazard left and behind green.

Hole #3 OB left and right marked by white stakes. Water hazard in front of tee. Road behind green is in play, take free relief no nearer the hole. Fence & electrical box behind green is also in play, take free relief no nearer the hole. Please note there is no drop zone on this hole. Hit till you get across.

Hole #4 OB left and right, marked by white stakes. The rocks in the fairway are in play, NO relief. Large tree just over the first hill has been removed and a new tress has been planted (w/ stakes) take appropriate relief from that tree.

Hole #5 OB right, marked by white stakes. There are a few new trees planted on the left side, take appropriate relief.

Hole #6 OB long, marked by white stakes.

Hole #7 OB left, marked by white stakes. Water hazard to the right from tee. The pine trees next to the water hazard have been moved and sod has been planted where those trees were, the sodded areas will be marked and played as GUR. There have been several trees removed on this hole and a few new trees planted, take appropriate relief.
